Fairy Stones are formed over thousands of years by the deposit of calcium carbonate on small pebbles and fossils. The time period of their formation was during the receding glaciers in Canada during the Quaternary period (2.58 million years ago until now). They are predominantly found in the Harricana River in the Quebec region of Canada. The flat stones are round in shape and have special and unique patterns.
The local Indigenous people regarded them as protectors from evil spirits. They also brought Good Health and Prosperity to people possessing them, especially when hunting and fishing.
