Avalon by Nature: Connecting You to Quality Products and Services
I’m Jo Avalon and if you’re a fairly new subscriber, Welcome! If you’ve been receiving emails from me for some time, Thanks So Much for inviting me into your inbox!
I want to pause the usual programming (aka the Weekly Oracle Post) and (re)introduce you to me and Avalon by Nature. Before I get started, though, I’m going to suspend the conventional ‘We at Avalon’ narration because, as you mostly likely know, it really is just me, Jo. There is no We! So I apologise if it sounds like I’m just talking about myself. I am aiming to share what I can, in order to tease out how I can be of service to You. It’s turning out to be a bit of a long one, so please make a cuppa :).
Avalon by Nature (Avalon for short) was created in September 2002, and became my full time adventure in 2010 after I resigned from my union organiser role due to stress and anxiety. I vowed never to work for another employer full time again, and apart from a few casual jobs, and sporadic work for the Electoral Commission, I’ve kept that promise to myself. In the 14 years since, I’ve experimented with different ways to develop the vehicle that is Avalon to take me to fulfil my passion for connecting You to quality products and services.
As a result, I’ve rekindled a passion for country and the Outback, and tasked Avalon with taking me as far and often as it can sustain. So far, I’ve headed out from my home in Awabakal Lake Macquarie, north to Qld’s Gold Coast, west to Broken Hill, south-west to Port Lincoln, south to Melbourne and of course, all around NSW’s Central Coast and Newcastle. I’m sure you’ve seen photos on social media of roads, sunsets, various bodies of water and of course, endless photos of popups and psychic fairs (sorry, not sorry!) No doubt you’ve signed up for these emails from one of the places I’ve visited, and I’m grateful you did. It is my joy to visit, explore your local area, and to bring quality spiritual and self-development products directly to you. I love nothing more than talking about what you’re working on and wanting to explore further. I want to reassure you that despite the lure of operating purely in the online space, I remain committed to visiting your area in person.
To date, I’ve prioritised visiting towns that have psychic fairs already or a shopping centre that I can set up in for several days. This allows me an opportunity to meet people where they’re at, ie doing the groceries, and having conversations in everyday spaces. However, that doesn’t allow me to visit smaller towns as easily and so I’ve been developing my Intuitive Reading service using Crystals and Tarot, to complement a selection of books, oracle decks, crystals and jewellery. You might have heard me banging on about a Mobile Shop in a Bus, and although limited finances have continued to delay progress on that dream, I will persevere!
One of the photos in the collage above is of the Witches Charm, a spiritual gift shop in Lake Macquarie where the owner is open-hearted enough to host me as a reader and I cherish the collaboration between our businesses. Another collaborative effort is to travel with a friend who offers readings and together we can offer a complete service.
Perhaps you’ve seen emails and posts about Your Soul Expo. I’m currently organising my third such event and I really love bringing together a group of talented practitioners and heart-centred retailers to offer our attendees a wonderful day of connections and learning. Networking amongst ourselves as well as meeting our customers are my two main goals for these events, and I hope to see you if you are near the locations.
I’ve not long returned from a week-long tour of six regional NSW towns, some of which I’ve travelled through many times, but not had an opportunity to properly set up shop. The purpose of this trip was to offer a private and personal service to those who don’t have the opportunity to access products or a reading service in person due to their location. This was such a great learning experience and allowed me to explore the country along the way. I’m looking at booking a return trip soon, and I’d really love to do a tour along the Murray River, next year perhaps.
So, where am I heading with this post? Good question 😅. I wanted to properly introduce myself to you, to share my journey and goals in order to see how I can be of service to you in an in-person way. The current economic climate is difficult for bricks-and-mortar stores but I’m hoping my lack of a fixed retail home will allow me to be flexible in responding to requests further afield. Please feel free to share your response, ideas or suggestions for places to visit. I read every comment and value a fresh perspective. I look forward to hearing from you,
Jo Avalon 🙏🚐💚
