Writings on the Divine Feminine
The concept of a Divine Feminine, the Goddess, was central to the spiritual beliefs of our ancestors, yet today, many people are still unfamiliar with her.
In Her Sacred Name contains a collection of essays about the Goddess, from historical origins through to specific aspects that she was known by within cultures such as Egyptian, Greek and Roman, Celtic, African and Mesopotamian. Many of these essays include way sof how to make a deeper connection with that particular Goddess in the 21st century through the construction of altars and performing rituals (including a full moon rite).
Frances Billinghurst is the founder of The Goddess House (Adelaide) and has been conducting workshops and rituals about the Goddess for over 20 years. She is also the author of Dancing the Sacred Wheel: A Journey through the Southern Sabbats, Encountering the Dark Goddess and the editor of Call of the God: An Anthology Exploring the Divine Masculine within Modern Paganism. She has contributed to a number of anthologies about the Goddess and when she is not writing, Frances is attempting to replicate the Hanging Gardens of Babylon on her patch of Australian dirt, beading, and journeying between the worlds.
